UMUSIC AUTUMN 2015
Globe Events took over Shepherds Bush Empire for 2 days in September 2015 for Umusic Autumn, Universal Music’s largest annual company event.
The show is an opportunity for the record labels to present both their most successful and emerging talent to all 650+ UK staff members. 2015 showcased 8 acts in one afternoon including performances by Aurora, The Libertines, Jack Garratt, James Bay and a very special appearance by Justin Bieber.
Over the months building up to Umusic Autumn, Globe Events work with our close knit team of production, host, ticketing, set design, catering and artist liaison teams to produce a meticulously scheduled show.
The Globe Events team create the set design, produce the concert including PA, lighting, screens, signage, artist liaison and backstage hospitality to look over for 100 working crew and artists. This includes a complete take-over of not only Shepherds Bush but also utilising the Dorset Hotel next door where we create comfortable greenrooms for the performing artists. The artist event experience is crucial in every event we do and creating a chilled out, enjoyable artist environment is always a big priority.
Once everything is in place rehearsals begin the day before and we work to a strict schedule, our production team ensure all 8 artist and bands are technically prepped ahead of show day. Both backstage and the hotel greenrooms are then completely reset to meet specific artist requirements and to make sure everything is in place for show day.
On show day the Globe Events team are back on site to finalise operations before the 650+ guests begin arriving at lunch time. Globe Events are also responsible for co-ordinating all communications to guests and ticketing.. The event itself contains a mixture of speeches from label presidents and presentations and performances from our incredible artists..
10 speeches, 8 performances, 8 show reels and 850 pies later the event comes to an end and load out begins.
An event of this scale demands expert planning and an excellent reliable team. The 2015 team were immediately booked back in for 2016 and Globe Events are looking forward to making Umusic Autumn 2016 even bigger.
