On Thursday 12th September, fans packed out LSO St Lukes and crowded around their computer screens to watch the live stream for the third exclusive HP Connected Music gig, curated by the Globe team, this time featuring cheeky Island duo Rizzle Kicks.
Invites for the gig were extended to HP Connected Music users, Rizzle Kicks facebook fans as well as media. Those that couldn’t make it in person could watch the live stream from the comfort of their sofa via the HP YouTube channel.
Before the gig the boys sat down with HP ambassador and celebrity blogger Arjan Writes, in front of an audience of journalists, for Artist#Talk the brand’s online interview series. The pair also met with competition winners who won the chance to come backstage.
The gig was the third exclusive UK gig in the HP series, which premiered with Ellie Goulding in March and was watched by over 1.4 million people at home via the live stream. The second gig saw Iggy Azealia pack out Fabric with horde of enthusiastic fans.
HP Connected Music is a new music reward package offering buyers of a HP laptop 12 months free streaming of the Universal Music catalogue. The package also offers users the opportunity to attend exclusive events and gigs.
Rizzle Kicks released their second album Roaring 20’s on September 2nd 2013 and the boys travelled up and down the country taking their pop-up store – the Imaginarium – to Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester and Brighton, meeting fans along the way.
Since debut album Stereo Typical’s release in 2011, Jordan and Harley have become a major force in the pop landscape having gathered a platinum certification, a number one single with Olly Murs, two sell-out headline tours, a Brit Award nomination and three MOBO nominations.
