Universal’s commercial division, Globe, has partnered with some of the UK’s leading film composers to offer their services to advertising agencies and brands.
Composers involved include David Arnold, who has written scores for several James Bond films and Godzilla, and Steve Price, the composer for Gravity and Fury.
The venture will create bespoke campaign music for agencies, drawing on the artistic processes used for scoring a movie. Universal’s music labels will then release the music.
Decca Records, the label behind soundtracks for The Hobbit, Philomena and The King’s Speech, as well as Abbey Road Studios will provide full support and release mechanism of their label.
This creative venture that will also allow brands and agencies to pair the UK’s top film composers with commercial artists for the first time and see them produce ground-breaking music to your brief.
The composers will bring their expertise and skillsets to your project and combine them with the commercial
know-how of global artists such as Ellie Goulding, Emeli Sande, Chase & Status and many more.
Picture the scene; David Arnold the creator of ‘Play Dead’, the trail-blazing hit song co-written with Bjork scores your films with two captivating yet contrasting pieces of music. Whilst the compositions are produced to perfectly emphasize the contrasting visuals of your commercial both feature the stunning voice of Emeli Sande, Ellie Goulding or whichever Universal artists you decide to work with.
Other composers available include Ilan Eshkeri, Dickon Hinchliffe and Joby Talbot. There are Oscar, Grammy and Bafta winners amongst the group, who between them have also written scores for Locke, The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy, Stardust, Layer Cake, Kick Ass, Project NIM, Alpha Papa and Tomorrow Never Dies
