On Wednesday 23rd July, BRIT award winners, Bastille, played an intimate show at London's Scala in Kings Cross for the 5th show in the series of HP Connected Music gigs curated by the Globe team.
The show was the fifth in a line of exclusive events from the HP campaign, which have previously showcased Ellie Goulding, Iggy Azalea, Rizzle Kicks and John Newman. The packed out audience at Scala were all HP customers who have been using the HP Connected Music radio streaming service which launched last year and lucky Bastille fans who had won a competition run on their Facebook.
This fifth event, however, introduced new levels of fan engagement with a pressure-sensitive dance floor; allowing the crowd to power the on stage visuals-the more they danced, the brighter the logo glowed on stage.
The band, who returned to Scala having played their first ‘proper gig’ there in 2012, covered off fan favourites ‘Pompeii’ – the most streamed track of all time in the UK – ‘Things We Lost In The Fire’ and ‘Of the Night’ among others.
HP Connected is a music reward package offering buyers of HP laptops a year’s free streaming of the Universal Music catalogue. The deal also offers users the opportunity to attend exclusive events and gigs. The partnership between HP and Universal will continue in 2015 with lots of exciting new activity.
